Brand New from Glitz Design!

I know there are a million scrapbooking companies out there, but I still get so excited when new ones pop up – especially ones that I fall in love with like Glitz Design! This company has only been around since 2007, but in just two years they have made quite an impression.

I don’t know about you, but I am all about product — paper, stamps, stickers, rub-ons, journaling spots; I can’t get enough of ALL of it! The three talented ladies behind Glitz seem to have created their company for scrappers just like me!

At the recent Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Winter Convention, Glitz Design debuted several new collections: Audrey, Sparrow, Rebel, Basics and a revamped Hot Mama. Two previous lines, Gigi and Glam, were released at the summer show but are still being sold because of high demand. Along with these collections, Glitz has also come out with an amazing variety of other goodies for scrapbookers and cardmakers.

I was lucky enough to get to check out a bunch of the hot new clear stamps, roller doodles (read on, I will explain!), stickers, rub-ons and other fabulous new embellishments from Glitz, and here are my impressions.

Rub-Ons and Stickers

From glitter cardstock alphabet stickers and title stickers to border stickers and glitzers (transparent stickers with a touch of bling), Glitz has all the bases covered. Each sheet is more fabulous than the next, and I had to resist the urge to use them all at once! :) Same goes with large variety of rub-ons in many different sizes and designs, including journaling spots, flourishes and metallics – just to name a few. What’s great is that so many of these embellishments coordinate with their paper collections, but you could use them on just about any project. Case in point: this layout about my friend Meri.

Distressing Stamps Set

I had such fun making this layout using just cardstock and a bunch of fun Glitz products, plus a few other items from my stash.  Usually I use a lot of patterned paper and spend a long time planning and moving stuff around, but this layout came together in a snap, and I really felt like I was playing! That’s at least partially due to the grid stamp from the Distressing Stamps Set, which I started off with.  What a fun set this is, allowing you to quickly distress your pages with five different options: handwriting, dots, sanding, grid and numbers. It gave my layout the edgy look I was hoping for. Glitz also makes an acrylic block that is the perfect size for the Distressing Stamps. (I also used a Roller Doodle, a few glitzers and several stickers from the Hot Mama collection on this layout.)

Roller Doodles

The ladies at Glitz were so generous in sharing a bunch of their new Roller Doodles with me, and I really enjoyed creating with them! They are so easy to use: you just roll them on your inkpad and then roll them all over your cardstock/patterned paper – wherever you want to use them! It’s stamping and doodling all (literally) rolled into one. Again, these designers thought of everything. Roller Doodles come in “small” and “giant” sizes, and designs include: curls, arrows, stars, numbers, flourish, crowns, hearts and more. Trust me, you’ll love them.

Digital Collection

I pride myself on being totally honest in my reviews, and I”m not going to stop here. I don’t do digital! Maybe it’s because I am a professional writer and editor and already spend so much time on my computer — or maybe it’s because I just love paper so much. :) Whatever the reason, just because I am not a digital scrapper does not mean I can’t appreciate the great new products Glitz has come out to help those who are. We’re talking software for digital scrapbooking and cardmaking! Keep reading for a chance to win!

Bottom Line
I had the BEST time working with these fabulous new products from Glitz Design.  My advice is to run, don’t walk — to your local scrapbook store and ask them to start carrying Glitz Design paper, stamps and other embellishments. You can also find these products online at Scrapbook.com. They range in price from $.84 for the new 12″x12″ paper to $29.99 for digital scrapbooking software. For ideas and inspiration, head to Glitz Design’s website and blog.

If you’d like to get a few new Glitz goodies delivered to your house without spending a penny, leave a comment here before Friday April 17th about these products and my review, and you will be entered to win! Make sure and let me know in your comment if you are a cardmaker and/or a digital scrapper. That’s because I have TWO prize packages to give away – one for a traditional scrapbooker and one for a digital scrapper/cardmaker! One entry per person, please.

I love the look of all of the Glitz stuff, but can’t actually see it IRL which is upsetting since no one nearby carries them (and I’m a see/try before you buy type of girl). Just love it all though and would truly enjoy getting my hands on them!

Cool stuff! I’m a big fan of their big journaling spot rub-ons and the icings. Would love to try out some of the paper. I am a paper (not digital) person. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway.

  • Nicole Laird said:

Please don’t use this as an entry, as I entered once. However, is it considered kosher to comment over and over again? I have always had the understanding that you comment once and hope for the best. Have I been wrong?

  • Louise Dubord said:

Aren’t the roller doodles just fabulous? I just can’t get enough of the Glam paper! I am a traditional scrapbooker. Thanks

  • Jackie said:

Back again, woo-hoooo! Glitz Designs are the best. I love your site. Always a pleasure to see new things.

  • Jill said:

Nicole – thank you SO much for your last comment. You are absolutely correct. You enter once and hope for the best; it is not kosher to keep commenting over and over again. It doesn’t raise your chances of winning; in fact quite the opposite!! Thank you for bringing that up and thank you for reading Qwowi!

  • Jackie, Pearland TX said:

hope all is well, did i win? he he he
