I’m leaving this morning for a two week getaway to Alaska.  The bags are packed and the dogs have been sent off to stay with friends and my well-armed neighbor is holding down the fort.

By the time this posts we should be well on our way to Toronto and then on to Vancouver where we’ll board or Holland America cruise ship to Alaska.  I’ll be posting notes from my trip as Internet access permits, in the mean time, Qwowi is in good hands and regular posting will continue for the duration.

While relaxation is the primary mission, I’m bringing along lots of cool gadgets which may get reviewed after I get back.  As you can see, the photo bag is heavy and includes:

• Nikon D300 and D50 camera bodies
• Tokina  11-16mm f/2.8 lens
• Tamron 17-55mm f/2.8 lens
• Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens
• Nikon 70-300mm f4-5.6 lens
• Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 lens

All 20+ pounds is stuffed in a new Kata R-103 backpack.
