OGIO Nexos Finally Makes an Appearance

The OGIO Nexos is one flippin sweet stand bag.
The long awaited OGIO Nexos stand bag has finally made its way on to the OGIO web site.  While I don’t have what I would call up to the minute information, when last I heard from my contact at OGIO, the Nexos was on schedule to begin shipping the beginning of June.

Well, here we are, the beginning of June, and it appears that if it’s not already so, availability for the most anticipated golf bag I’ve ever seen is right around the corner.

Apart from the bucket load of awesome that generally gets poured into an OGIO golf bag, the interest in this bag is largely the result of the new Arc Lite stand system.

Here’s what OGIO says about it:

In our effort to eliminate so-called “leg-catch syndrome,” we have created the Arc Lite Stand System. With the stability and responsiveness of its previous leg designs, the new Arc Lite deploys in an arced motion, providing the player with a wide berth between the bag’s legs and his or her own. When it is retracted, the legs come together 50 percent faster than with traditional systems, then snap into place against the bag. The net result: no more tangles.

Not that legs that won’t reach out and trip you like a playground bully aren’t really cool, but as is always the case, there’s so much more to this OGIO.

Features include:

  • 10″ Wedge Top (Full length club dividers - I’ve become a HUGE fan of this design)
  • Arc Lite stand system (I might have mentioned that already)
  • Ball Silo
  • Lift Grip Trunk Handle
  • ZBP (Zipperless ball pocket for those of you not in the know)
  • Hoode (Clamshell style rain hood)
  • Cigar Caddy
  • Divot Tool pocket (divot tool included)
  • Scorecard/pencil pocket
  • Towel loop
  • Glove/Putter Velcro Strip
  • GPS range finder pocket with window
  • Pen Sleeve
  • Walking accessible water bottle holster
  • Elastic tee holders
  • External fiberglass frame
  • Crossbow shoulder strap
  • 11 pockets (fleece lined valuables pocket + 11 others (6 total zippered))

At this point I feel compelled to reiterate: All these features, enough for 3 golf bags, are all built into 1, 6.5 lbs. OGIO Nexos.  No, I don’t know how they do it.

The Nexos is available in Sand Navy (pictured above), Black Gold, and Black.  Personally, I like prefer the look of the Sand Navy, but all 3 look pretty sharp.

Street price for the Nexos is in the $200 ballpark.  Certainly it’s among the more expensive stand bags on the market, but when you factor in all the features, and the durability that comes with the OGIO name, it’s money well spent.
